Two losses on the spin as Bulls fall to the Celtics

Shooting Forward DeMar DeRozan was the main performer for the Bulls as they fell against the Celtics and have now suffered two losses on the spin. DeRozan racked up an impressive 28 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists. It wasn’t enough as the Chicago Bulls (34-37) lost against the Boston Celtics (57-14) 124-113 at home at United Center. The Chicago Bulls came into this game after a tough loss against the Houston Rockets where they where outshone offensively 127-117. While the Celtics came into this game undefeated with an impressive track record as with this win, they now have nine wins on the spin, their last win coming against the Detroit Pistons with an offensive demolition of 129-102.

The last time these teams faced each other was earlier in the season on Tuesday, November 28th, during the NBA In-Season Tournament where the Celtics demolished the Bulls 124-97 where Celtic’s Shooting Guard Jaylen Brown and Shooting Forward Jayson Tatum where the main performer with 30, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists respectively. The Chicago Bulls hoped for a different result this time around, but the Celtics once again offensively dominated and won the game in emphatic fashion as they Bulls now have two losses on the spin.

First half was tight, Bulls were down by six at Halftime

The first half was a hard-fought one for the Bulls as they trailed by six at the halftime buzzer. They ended the first quarter with nothing between them as the quarter ended 31-31. DeRozan was the best man on the court that quarter for the Bulls with 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists while Tatum was the main man for the Celtics with 10 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist.

The second quarter then seemed to be a moment where Billy Donovan’s team stepped their foot off the pedal as the Celtics were allowed loose offensively as they finished the second quarter with a winning result of 35-29, but at the half the combined score was Celtics up by six 66-60. For the Bulls, it was once again DeRozan providing the difference as he put in 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assist but for the Celtics it was Shooting Forward Sam Hauser who finished with 11 points, 1 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Bulls fought hard in the third, but a fourth-quarter Celtic performance sealed the game

The third quarter proved to be an eye-catching sight for the Bulls as they fought hard to turn the deficit and find a comeback, they found themselves at the end of the third quarter now three points down, as the quarter ended in the Bulls favor 32-29, but the Celtics leading by three in the overall score of 95-92. DeRozan once again lead the way providing 9 points and 2 assists in the quarter, while for the Celtics Center Al Horford played an amazing quarter of 11 points and 4 rebounds that sealed the Bulls fate. in the fourth quarter, everything fell apart for the Bulls, they fought hard in the third quarter but in the fourth the Celtic offense tore them apart.

The fourth quarter ended 29-21, and the final score was 124-113 with DeRozan being the only light for the Bulls as he finished the quarter with 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists. While for the Celtics it was offensive freedom and growth in statistics for various players as Tatum finished with 26 points while Hauser and Horford had both 23 points and also Center Luke Kornet had an instrumental role as he had a remarkable 13 rebounds.

Star of the Game

Shooting Forward DeMar DeRozan was the “Star of the Game” as he racked up an impressive 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists. The USC Trojan product and 2009 NBA Draft, ninth overall pick was the best player on the court by far, but his contributions were in vain as the Bulls fell to the Celtics. DeRozan and company are hoping to put on a good performance next time around and provide the desired result for the Bulls and the city of Chicago.

The Bulls will want to bounce back and shake off these two losses on the spin and not make it three as they play the Washington Wizards at home at United Center on Monday, March 25th, at 8:00 p.m. Central.

The Boston Celtics will look to continue their amazing run of nine consecutive wins and make it ten as they play away from home at State Farm Arena against Atlanta Hawks on Monday, March 25th, at 7:30 p.m. Central.
