Titans Eyeing Key Piece of Bengals' Defense in Free Agency
USA TODAY Sports

Could Chidobe Awuzie reunite with former Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan in Tennessee?

The Titans are targeting the veteran cornerback according to Adam Caplan of Pro Football Network.

Awuzie is a proven veteran that would instantly help Callahan establish a winning culture in Nashville. The former second round pick signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the Bengals ahead of the 2021 season.

Awuzie quickly established himself as the Bengals' No. 1 cornerback and helped them reach Super Bowl LVI. He tore his ACL against the Browns on Oct. 31, 2022. He appeared in 15 games for Cincinnati last season, but didn't reach his pre-injury form.

The veteran is a nice buy low candidate, especially if the Titans could sign him to a multi-year deal. There's a path for Awuzie to return to the Bengals next season, but it appears unlikely, especially if he has multiple suitors in free agency.

Tennessee is also targeting a veteran safety in free agency according to Caplan. Read his entire report here
